So I did a thing the other day. I broke down and purchased a Nespresso machine for my home office. Yes, you read that correctly I bought this for my home office and not my actual ‘work’ office at the University. Let’s face it, I’ve been working from home since mid-March, and I won’t be going back to the office proper any time soon. So my home office and my work office are pretty much one and the same. I managed to get in on a deal and pick up a Nespresso Vertuo Next Premium with 100 coffee pods for a total of $218. The machine alone normally retails for $219, so I pretty much got the coffee pods for free.
Now while I’m mainly a tea drinker, I really do love a good cup of coffee. The problem is I haven’t had one since I went into quarantine in March 2020. All my good coffee is normally consumed while I’m at work, so for the last 6 1/2 months, it’s been nothing but tea for me. I’ve been eyeing getting a Nespresso machine of my own for a while. Kat from @thecontentplanner lit the fire and inspired me to finally buy one. The fact that there was a deal on was a bonus.
The Nespresso Vertuo Next Premium is made from 54% recycled plastic with a 100% recyclable box packaging. Included with the machine, you get a coffee sample pack which contains 12 different coffee pods from the Nespresso line. The box itself reminds me of a box of chocolates. For reference, Nespresso has 28 different types of coffee, plus limited edition variations they release from time to time. I’m kicking myself that I just missed the Pumpkin Spice Cake they had on offer, but I’m totally going to go and pick up the new Café du Cuba blend they just came out with.

The Nespresso Vertuo Next Premium comes in the black and rose gold combination. The machine is really classy looking and as a result, I prefer this colour combination. It is also available in classic black. The machine can accommodate 5 cup sizes, operates with one easy button, has automatic capsule ejection, has a 2 minute ECO mode, and connectivity via Bluetooth and Wifi. It’s fancy, fancy machine, and I love it.
This is probably my favourite purchase of the year. Honestly, it is such a great investment and I can see myself using it a lot and it really makes my home office feel more like an office and not just a space I’m working from. I love how quick and easy the Nespresso Vertuo Next Premium is to use on a day to day basis. It is a no-fuss, no muss kind of machine and it makes great coffee quickly. The price point on this machine is great. It retails for $219, and even if I had missed the promotion Nespresso had where I essentially received 100 coffee pods for free, I still would have made the purchase. While I didn’t really get into it in this post, Nespresso also has an awesome recycling program and I’ll talk more about that in a later post when I go more in-depth on the coffee itself.
Nespresso Vertuo Next Premium was purchased by me. All opinions are my own.
