As a blogger, I get pitched a lot of different products for reviews and features. I don’t agree to review them all the time, but every now and then I am intrigued enough by the pitch to say ‘yes’. One such pitch was for the new LELO SONA Sonic Massager ($89.99). I admit, that I have absolutely zero experience with the brand LELO, so I figured that the launch of a brand new products was a great place to start. So let’s take a look at the new LELO SONA Sonic Massager that was only released last week.
The write-up states that it ‘stimulates the entire clitoris – even the parts you don’t see – with eager, fluttering pulses, for a different kind of orgasm produced by the massage of sonic waves. It’s a prolonged climax after a sensual build-up, an orgasm that comes from somewhere deep within you.’ Surely that has to be just a bunch of lip service right? A vibrator is a vibrator, is a vibrator and all that. I mean really, how good can it possibly be? Well after testing it out, I have to say OMG this is the greatest thing ever. Ok, well maybe not, but it’s pretty damned close. The LELO SONA Sonic Massager really isn’t like any vibrator I’ve ever come across.
The LELO SONA Sonic Massager comes in three colours; black, pink and cerise. It is completely waterproof, fully rechargeable, and has 8 pleasure settings. It charges in 2 hours and has a run time of 1 hour. As you can see, it is not a wand, or bullet vibrator. At first glance, it looks kind of strange, but once you pick it up, it fits in the curve of your hand. Holding it feels way more natural than most vibes around.
It comes in matte black packaging with gold writing. The LELO SONA Sonic Massager includes a carrying bag, a sample of LELO’s personal lubricant, charging cable, and the SONA itself.
Here you can see the curve in the SONA. It can be held upside down or right-side up. You won’t be disappointed by how easy it is to hold on to without having to contort into awkward positions.
The tip, which I didn’t get a good picture of, actually looks like a it’s going to provide suction. My mother and I giggled over that when I was taking the photos. But the LELO SONA Sonic Massager doesn’t actually work with suction, thank god, but rather it works with sonic pulses. The best part, unlike traditional vibrators, the rest of your hand holding the device doesn’t vibrate while holding it.
The back side of the device, is a very hard gold plastic with the brand name engraved. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting that and it gives it a little more ‘luxe’ look to the SONA.
The charging port is found on the bottom of the device itself. Simply plug the included charger into the device, and the USB end into a USB charging adapter. 2 hours later, you have a fully operational device. While it is charging, the 3 buttons on the front of the device will flash. When it is ready for use, the lights surrounding those same buttons will remain steady.
The LELO SONA Sonic Massager has three buttons for operation. To activate it, simply push the + sign. You can keep pushing the + to reach your desired intensity. To turn it down the intensity, simply push the – button. Turn it off, keep pushing the – button until it is no longer on. You can switch between the various modes available, simply push the center () sign. The buttons don’t lock, but the design makes it more unlikely to turn on when placed on a flat surface. That also makes is easier to pack for travel as well.
Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by the LELO SONA Sonic Massager. Even with my limited experience with sex toys, this is the best one I’ve come across so far. It is retailing for $89.99 right now, and is available from LELO.com
