It’s kind of funny that no matter how much skincare stuff I have, I always seem to finish up a whole whack of products at the same time. I don’t know how I always manage to do that, but I do. EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. The good news about doing that is that it generally allows me to be able to try out something new and switch up my whole skincare routine. As I started coming to the end of my Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Oil-Free Gel Cream, I decided that rather than just buy a new bottle, it was time for something fresh and new. Enter Drunk Elephant Lala Retro™ Whipped Cream ($75 CAD for 50 ml /1.69 fl. oz.).
Now I am really picky when it comes to my skincare products. I spot test, I obsessively read all labels, and just generally don’t believe any of the hype unless I can verify it for myself. So while I have been eyeing the Drunk Elephant line for a while, and generally testing out all samples received, I finally decided to bite the bullet and pick up the Drunk Elephant Lala Retro™ Whipped Cream to replace my almost finished face cream.
Drunk Elephant Lala Retro™ Whipped Cream
Drunk Elephant Lala Retro™ Whipped Cream is noncomedogenic, cruelty-free, and vegan. Somehow, this cream manages to be thick and creamy without being heavy or greasy. It is suitable for even the most sensitive and reactive skin. I love, love, love it and it leaves my skin looking so hydrated, which is no easy feat.
Over the past year, I have been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. While the Doctor’s tell you all about the health issues that being Diabetic causes, they neglect to tell you how it affects your skin. My skin has not only become dry, but dehydrated as well. When my blood sugar is out of whack, it shows on my skin. It flakes, it peels, it cracks, hurts and generally gives me a very hard time. It’s gotten so bad that I have pretty much stopped wearing makeup because my skin just can’t handle it. But that’s all changing, thanks in part to Drunk Elephant Lala Retro™ Whipped Cream.
Now don’t get me wrong, most of the improvements that have happened to my skin are the result of me making changes to my overall diet to get my blood sugar under control. So no, Drunk Elephant Lala Retro™ Whipped Cream did not cure my Diabetes skin care related issues. What it did do is help repair some of the damage my skin has experienced over the year. The area around my nose, which was prone to peeling and cracking is smooth and moisturized.
The Drunk Elephant Lala Retro™ Whipped Cream has become my new go-to face cream. Not only does it work absolute wonders on my skin, but it also comes in some pretty neat packaging. I love the push dispenser that it comes with. I no longer have to stick my finger into the pot of cream and risk taking too much cream or contaminating the remainder of the cream left in the pot. A little of this stuff goes a long, long way. If you are interested in trying out Drunk Elephant Lala Retro™ Whipped Cream, you can find it at your local Sephora store.
