Now I don’t normally partake in the 2018 2018 Sephora VIB Sale Haul. It’s not that I don’t like saving a few dollars or anything, I just usually don’t time it right so I end up missing it. This year I managed to catch it and was able to pick up a bunch of things I either needed or had my eye on for a while. Of course most of what I picked up is skincare, but all in all, I don’t think I did too bad with my 2018 Sephora VIB Sale Haul.
I always love picking up a good skincare set. I managed to get my hands on these two awesome sets from Farmacy and First Aid Beauty. I’ve been keen to try something from Farmacy for a while now, but they always seem to be sold out. Fortunately, I was able to get my hands on their Cream of the Crop set ($56 CAD). It contains a full-sized Green Clean Makeup Meltaway Cleansing Balm, and a mini Honey Potion Renewing Antioxidant Hydration Mask and Honey Drop Lightweight Moisturizer. Considering that the buying the full-sized Green Clean will cost you $44 CAD, this set really is a great deal.
I also picked up the First Aid Beauty Skin Summit set ($60 CAD). It has a full-sized Ultra Repair Cream and DIAM Facial Radiance Pads. It also includes minis of the Pure Skin Face Cleanser, the Ultra Repair Instant Oatmeal Mask, and the Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum. The Ultra Repair Cream and the DIAM Facial Radiance Pads retail for $37 CAD each, so this set really does give you the most bang for your buck.
I’ve become a bit of an essence nut in the past year. Ever since I realized it was what was missing from my skincare routine. I picked up the FRESH Black Tea Kombucha Facial Treatment Essence ($85 CAD) and the Shiseido Eudermine Revitalizing Essence ($78 CAD). I previously had deluxe sample sizes of both these and my skin loves them. So picking up the full-sized versions was an absolute no-brainer for me.
The colder weather means that I have to change up a few of the products in my skincare routine. One change I make is to my night cream. I always go back to something a bit heavier in the cold weather. It helps to give my skin that extra bit of care it needs in the harsh, cold climate. So I picked up the Darphin 8-Flower Nectar Oil Cream ($168 CAD). It pains me to admit that I pay this much for a face cream, but this stuff is amazing. At least my skin will thank me; even if my wallet doesn’t.
I also picked up both the Summer Fridays Jet Lag ($59 CAD) and Overtime ($54 CAD)Face Masks. I’ve been using the Summer Fridays Jet Lag Face Mask since it was released earlier in 2018. Restocking it and picking up the new Overtime mask to try that one just seemed like a no-brainer. I am not a huge fan of sheet masks, but I decided to pick up two from Dr. Jart+. I bought both the Brightening Infusion Hydrogel Mask and the Water Replenishment Cotton Mask. Both of these retail for $9 CAD, so I didn’t mind too much. It will be interesting to see how it all works out.
The Shiseido Cleansing Massage Brush ($29 CAD) also found it’s way home with me. My Clarisonic finally broke a few months ago and I decided against replacing it. Instead, I went for the low tech option after hearing good things about it. It just sucks that it’s not available in-store and can only be purchased online. I also picked up another FRESH Sugar Advanced Therapy Lip Treatment ($32 CAD) as my current one is almost finished. This is my favourite lip balm/treatment so I always try to have one on hand.
Now I love a good eyeshadow palette and during the sale, I picked up the Pat McGrath Labs Mothership V Bronze Seduction Eyeshadow Palette ($170 CAD). Yes, this palette is expensive, but good lord is it ever worth it. It’s just so stunning it makes me want to get my hands on the rest of them. I also picked up one of the Huda Beauty Obsessions Eyeshadow Palettes ($30 CAD) from the Precious Stones Collection. I picked up the Topaz version because it is the only one I can see myself actually using.
I also picked up a new lip gloss and two lipsticks. Even though I tend to shy away from wearing lip gloss in colder weather, I did pick up the Bite Beauty French Press Lip Gloss in French Press ($26 CAD). While the other shades in this collection didn’t really appeal to me, I did like this brown shade for a simple everyday look. I also picked up two of the YSL Rouge Pur Couture The Slim Matte Lipsticks in shades 5 Peculiar Pink and 18 Reverse Red. Both shades are perfect shades for fall and winter and I’m super intrigued by the square shape of the lipstick.
The makeup portion of my 2018 Sephora VIB Sale Haul wouldn’t be complete with a few base face products. I recently threw out every foundation I own because they were so old and past their expiry dates. So needless to say I have to stock up once again. I picked up the Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Stick ($56 CAD) and now I can’t remember why I ever stopped using it. I also picked up the Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Match Stix Trio ($67 CAD) because while I am a fan of the natural look, that doesn’t mean I don’t want to conceal, contour and highlight honey.
Changing seasons also means changing up my fragrances. Well, I couldn’t decide on just one scent, so I picked up a few brand sample kits. This way I can try out a bunch of different scents and see how they react on my skin. I picked up the PINROSE Style Kit ($59 CAD) and I’ve already misplaced one of the scents in the kit. I also picked up The 7 Virtues Peace Blend Box ($30 CAD) and the Maison Margiela REPLICA’ Memory Box ($39 CAD). That is 26 different scents for me to try and test out for less than the cost of most full-sized fragrances.
So there you have it. There is my 2018 Sephora VIB Sale Haul. It didn’t seem like I bought a lot at the time, but now that I see it all laid out before me, I might have to revise my thoughts on that. All in all, it was a very successful, if expensive, 2018 2018 Sephora VIB Sale Haul.
